home painters

Have you ever wondered just why some peoples houses just seem to come alive while others are so drab.Next time you are in a house that just screams life, take a good look around and I’ll bet you will see things that you never would have tried until now. What’s the worst that can happen? You have to paint a room twice.I don’t think that will happens but when you try new stuff it’s always a possibility but how will you know unless you try.Paint is the most versatile of all decorating options. The price is good and you can usually do it yourself.Paint can be as calming or as daring as you like you just need to decide what look you are going for, what the room will be used for and how much time you will be spending their.I am going to give you 3 cheap home decorating ideas that will bring your walls back to life with what ever colors you choice to use.

1.. I like to just just freehand paint my stripes.as this gives the wall a soft look that looks informal. You will need to measure of and mark the width of you stripes but then just paint them by hand without taping them off.4 to 6 inch stripes are a good size. Wider stripes may take over the room but narrower stripes are harder to but so I have found that to be a good size. Choose your colors in accordance with the mood you want your room to convey.

]]>

2. This technique works best with 3 colors of the same family so the first thing to do is paint a base cost of your lightest color and let it dry.I like to keep the horizontal lines more uniform so it is a good idea to use a level to mark them off and then use painters tape to tape them off. You decide how wide you want your stripes to be and you can rotate different sizes if you like. you can do the whole room in the stripes or just one wall for a great focal point.

3. this process is a little more time consuming than the others so I like to use it a focal point wall or a small room such as a bathroom. you should tape off and paint your horizontal stripes first using two rotating colors. If you prefer you can paint a base coat, let it dry and then you will just have to mark off your rotating color and paint it. Once it dries to get then plaid effect you will need to tape off your vertical lines and use diluted white paint for this effect.

I hope you can find at least one of these cheap home decorating ideas that you can use. Your home is the one place that should show the style of life that is you.An always remember that

Bathroom decorating and design ideas

bathroom idea

There are great deals of options that need exploration when considering options associated with bathroom decoration ideas. Not just any design aesthetic fits the decor that the room has, which is why some people have a hard time decorating that room. However, there is hope for those that are looking for different options. Consider the following 3 ideas to illuminate and establish the bathroom as a dominant design force in your home.

1. Add Lighting – A good choice when baffled as to what to add to any room is lighting. A bathroom should be well lit, with overall good lighting up front, but then higher brightness lights towards the mirror for those that are going to be putting make up on. The lights should be well thought out and match the fixtures in a very subtle way. You don’t want the lighting to over take the rest of the design of any room, so make sure that when going modern, you still have a certain subtlety to everything.

2. Bathroom renovation ideas : The fixtures in contrast to the light is going to be a hard one to come through with. Decorating ideas for the bathroom can be complicated here. The design of the sink, faucet, and other fixtures need to be clean, uniform and if you’re going for simplicity, simple. Do not over think this, but also make sure that you’re not just putting in any old option. Yes, there is a utilitarian function to the fixtures but design should not be sacrificed for it.

3. Hanging Something – When in doubt, the easiest of all decorating ideas is to hang up a picture on the wall. This requires individual touches and taste to get right. Not every image will fit the motif of any modern restroom, so don’t just go with any old option, make sure you take things into consideration and select something that is pleasant and not too abrasive. Remember, this room is where bathing and other functions occur, so try to keep that in mind to juxtapose an image, or sayings, or anything that can be defined as art.

Amidst a great deal of bathroom design ideas, the above 3 are just a sampling. There are so many things to consider in a person’s home, that establishing a concrete template for everyone becomes really difficult. Consider the above in contrast to any other decorating ideas you might have.

Bathroom Decorating Ideas: With Or Without Bathtub

bathroom idea

Is your bathroom a relaxing haven where you can soak away the stresses of your day? Do you have an array of tea-lights in holders in the bathroom to give your end-of-day soak an ethereal ambiance? Or, is your bathroom purely utility – designed simply to have a quick shower and shoot off to start your 21st century lifestyle? Bathrooms can be anything you want them to be.

When my children were little, our bathroom was designed as a novelty, kiddies’ paradise – or, at least, I think designed is too exact a word. My children took the bathroom over with their water toys and other paraphernalia. That is far nearer the truth! However, we did agree on a dolphin theme – we had a toilet seat with dolphins dancing around the seat, dolphins on the shower curtain and on the bathroom rug, dolphins were also on some of the wall tiles and the light pull had a handle in the shape of a dolphin shape.

As the children got older, this theme took on a more sophisticated approach. We still had dolphins on the tiles, but the tiles had been renewed during that time and the dolphin theme now illustrated dolphins jumping out of the water on the beach at Koi Samui, with palm trees wafting in the breeze. The shower curtain had been replaced for a more esoteric one which read ‘I am beautiful’ in lettering all the way down the length of the curtain. Apart from that, the toilet seat and light pull remained. The children have now left home and, due to disability, we are having the bathtub removed and a disabled shower fitted. The dolphins dancing in Koi Samui are being replaced by plain white tiles and I expect I will find a new shower curtain, although I haven’t looked yet. We are not totally getting rid of the dancing dolphins though: they are being carefully removed from the bathroom wall and will be reset on the wall in the back lobby area near the back door.

The point I am making here is that your bathroom should be reflecting you and your family and needs to evolve as your family grows. Many homes have more than one bathroom: a family bathroom and an en-suite. They should be so lucky! My home is just too small to accommodate more than one bathroom. Bathrooms can be all things to all people, depending on your taste, your lifestyle and your budget. You could go for whirlpool bathtubs [I hate them], a Jacuzzi, a large freestanding bath that is almost deep enough to swim in, or a corner bath which is ideal for a small bathroom.

You can be spoilt with choices when it comes to showers: over the bath, free-standing shower stall, a tiled wet room. Then, of course, you could have a bathroom which is fitted out with bidet – a great innovation if you have a disability or, you could do as many Spanish people do and have the washing machine plumbed into the bathroom. The choice for bathroom décor is endless and only limited by your taste, imagination, budget and the size of your property.

Home Decorating Using A Nautical Theme

home painters

For those who love the sea and everything it represents there is no better theme to bring into their home decorating plans than a nautical theme. The theme itself is perfectly lovely and suitable for homes and homeowners that are not so in love with the mystery and romance of the deep blue sea. For those who do love the idea of sailing off into the sunset however, this is an excellent choice for home decorating.

There are many ways that a creative mind can incorporate a nautical theme into the home decorating plans. One of these ways is by using darkly stained wainscoting for the lower half of your walls along with a chair rail in order to imitate the wooden interior of finer sailing vessels. This imitates the interior of a sailboat and some powerboats. This is an impressive addition in most homes and quite ambitious in some as it is not the least expensive method of decorating. The effects however are stunning when used for this purpose.

Another great idea is to use a marine shade of blue for curtains and window coverings and have them made of the same type of materials that sail covers are made of on a sailboat. If you are truly ambitious you could elect to paint the walls in this marine shade of blue and select another color for the curtains or wooden blinds instead. However, white walls are perfectly acceptable when it comes to creating the look and feel of the interior of a boat.

]]>

Rope is another great tool to use in order to make the nautical theme a bit more authentic. You can twine rope around picture frames, candleholders, and all manner of other things in order to incorporate the rope into the room without having it look out of place. If you are truly ambitious you could even string a hammock in some forgotten corner of the room in order to hold coats in the wintertime or merely to authenticate the theme to some degree.

Portals, clocks, barometers, and such make excellent art in a nautical themed room. Other great additions would include items such as seashells, sand dollars, model boats, and artwork depicting the sea. For many, this is where we feel most at home, we derive our inspiration, and we literally feel as though we can truly commune with Mother Nature.

No nautical themed room or home is complete without a lighthouse to guide weary sailors home at the end of a long journey. Do not neglect an important feature such as this in your nautical themed home decorating ventures and purchases. If you are lost as to how to subtly incorporate this into your room you may want to look up a talented artist by the name of Thomas Kincaid. He is known as the painter of light and has managed to capture the essence of lighthouses in a manner that no other artist has been able to duplicate. One of his paintings would make an excellent addition to your nautical theme.

A nautical theme for home decorating is a great way to go for many families and for many reasons. All in all it isn’t the most expensive of decorative themes though it isn’t by any means the least expensive either. The good news is that there are very few absolutely right or wrong ways in which to achieve the look and atmosphere you are hoping to achieve.

Affordable Home Decorating Begins With Good Design

canopies outdoor

Affordable home decorating allows for a creative mix of old with the new. Staying with the basics and a little imagination and you can have a stylish home on a budget.

Classic furniture and accessories are often copied because good design will always stay current. Mix in well designed but inexpensive copies of an expensive item with antiques and better quality pieces for effective and affordable home decorating.

Wicker furniture is an excellent example of good design, that is actually borrowed from the past, giving a new home character.

Wicker and rattan are stylish, lightweight and practical and can be mixed in any room. A wicker trunk can be a coffee table, an end table, at the foot of a bed or in the mud room. And the best part? Hidden storage.

If you don’t have a lot of furniture, move what you do have away from the walls. This will create a more intimate room arrangement.
One large and impressive piece is better than several small pieces, and will make the room appear larger and less crowded.

Affordable home decorating allows for negative space in the design of an interior, so edit your belongings if your room is crowded.

older pieces and use in a new and different manner than the way it was originally intended.

furniture. The drawers and doors of a piece can be outfitted for modern application, like turning a dining room buffet into a media center.

If a piece of furniture has nice lines and good bones, but is badly scratched or the finish is bad, it can be stripped and , or altered with paint or even fabric, and it saves the piece from the landfill.

Visit estate auctions, yard sales and flea markets for undiscovered treasures.
Thrift stores and consignment shops are becoming more stylish and fun to peruse. You never know what you might find. Keep it in the community by visiting the stores in the neighborhood.

Changing the color of your rooms with paint is the most affordable home decorating “secret” and cost effective way to achieve a dramatic difference in the look of any space.

Consider doing the painting yourself with paint that is low in volatile organic compounds. (VOC’s)

If your room is sparsely furnished, color will add visual interest.
Divide a wall horizontally with two colors to give the illusion of a chair rail.

Painting doesn’t have to end with the walls. Paint the floor either solid or in a pattern to create drama to the room.

Do you like the look of wall paper but not ready for the expense or commitment? Stencils are an affordable home decorating detail of an ornate wall covering.

Black used as an accent will ground a room and bring out the best in other colors.

Rather, than re upholstering or buying new, replace tired upholstery with custom or ready-made slipcovers in an updated fabric.

Create a mixed fabric cottage look by recovering just the seats or change the look by replacing the separate cushions with one bench seat.

Look for upholstery grade fabric that has been discontinued or on the remnant tables.

Certain fabrics that are inexpensive never go out of style. Classic examples include muslin, white cotton duck, mattress ticking, and (some) chenille, which can be used as draperies, a bed canopy, slipcovers, or a covering for a skirted table.

Sisal as an alternative to expensive floor covering is a natural fiber and provides a neutral background to everything else in the room.

Personal expression doesn’t need to be expensive to be beautiful.

A vase with fresh flowers of the same color is more impressive than a table filled with small nick knacks.
Group a collection of like items together on one table, like framed photographs.
Stack coffee table books on a small chair, table or the floor and use as an accent table.
All white china looks good no matter how inexpensive it is. Mix in mismatched china from the flea markets for interest and color, or it looks terrific displayed alone.
Borrow from your closet and use a shawl as a throw or purchase fabric in a chenille to make your own that you casually place on the arm or the back of a sofa.
One large poster on a wall can pack more punch than a group of little prints.
Frame a beautiful piece of fabric into wall art, a section of vintage wallpaper, greeting cards, pages from an illustrated art book or calendar.
Simple black frames used on different styles of art and photographs will unify the arrangements.
Display old chess and other game boards as an alternative to art for the walls, as well as architectural fragments from the salvage yards.
Hang trays, plates and platters with wire wall hangars purchased in hardware stores.
Hang a quilt above the bed for a headboard.
Search flea markets for inexpensive mirrors and frames for an intriguing arrangement on a wall. Vary the size and shape of the frames and paint in the same color for a uniform presentation.
Have particularly lovely and ornate frames? Hang just the frames by themselves.

Affordable home decorating is fun. You will be rewarded with your effort and gain a real sense of accomplishment when your home is styling and you did it on the cheap!

Small Bathroom Decorating Ideas (Do) Install Crown Molding

bathroom idea

One room in the house that never seems to be quite big enough, is the bathroom. Unless you are one of the lucky ones, your bathroom is probably the average size which probably looks even smaller with all of the junk that finds it way behind the door. Besides a little organization, there are some decorating steps you can take to make the look and feel of your small bathroom a little less crowded.

Using soft cool colors such as a pink, blue, green, lavender or a cream pastel shade will give the illusion of more space at the same time as creating a feeling of serenity. Too add a little splash for highlights you can add bold colors for accessories such as towels, shower curtain, rug, and toilet seat cover. Lighting does wonders for opening up the look of your bathroom. You can install a recessed can lighting into your ceiling to focus on any work space. Wall sconces or a counter top lamp can add some warmth to your small bathroom. If you have the right design and budget, you can even put in a skylight, larger windows or Solar tubes to add even more depth to your room.

Take a look around and evaluate your space. Do you really need that large vanity? How about replacing it with a pedestal or wall mounted sink to free up some much needed floor space. If you find you need to store some supplies, try tacking up a small shelf on the wall over the toilet or rearranging a nearby linen closet. Another tip you could use to make a small bathroom appear larger, is if it is possible to replace a shower door with a shower curtain. If your shower design does not support this type of change, try trading a frosted glass shower door for a clear glass one to provide more depth to the room.

]]>

Eliminate all clutter or un-necessary items. Often we do not realize just how much stuff we collect until we realize we can no longer see the counter top underneath. Try having only a select number of towels on display, use only one floor rug, do not over do it with artwork on the walls, use only one decorative accessory instead of many small items. If you have dark flooring, try replacing it with white or light colored tiles. You can find tiles that are easy to lay down and are affordable at places such as Wal-mart, a home depot, a liquidators, or often even a discount store. If it is not possible to replace your flooring, use a large light colored rug placed in front of the shower or tub.

When choosing art pieces to accent your small bathroom, choose large paintings of outdoors like a garden picture or a meadow. This will add an extra dimension to the room. Another cheap home decorating ideas is painting a lattice or molding design around the edge of your small bathroom ceiling will also give the illusion of a raised ceiling. You can even install crown molding that has a place for shadow lighting which will add warmth to any small room. Adding architectural detail to any size room is adding beauty

Learn how to install crown molding yourself and save money. There are how to guides and videos to teach you how.You can even use leftover trim molding to frame out a large mirror which will reflect light and open up your small room. All of these ideas are simple, affordable and easy to apply for almost everyone. With some organization, and a little creativity, you can have your small bathroom looking twice as spacious.

Hire Professional Painting Contractors for Painting and Decorating Home Improvements

home painters

Home improvement is not something anyone should avoid doing. Self expression in one’s home is just as important as the improvement. Knowhow and ability should not be reasons these two points are not achieved. Painting and decorating can be done by painting contractors, and this leaves the home owner with the satisfaction of a beautiful home without the worry of how to do the job.

Painting and decorating is often done by individuals. These are people who feel secure in taking that chance. Quite often these individuals are ammeters when it comes to this industry. This can sometimes lead to the amateur eventually using painting contractors. Once this task is taken on, he or she realizes that it is not an easy as it looks. Hiring a professional is the only way to complete the work correctly.

Hiring painting contractors can be a pretty hard task in itself. One should be careful not to fall for scams or con artists. References should be verified on anyone allowed into one’s home, and this holds true for someone painting and decorating as well. There are many companies out there who want to do the best work possible and provide homes with beautiful painting jobs. Unfortunately, not all contract companies or individual contractor hold themselves to this same standard. There are a lot of people who would rather make a quick dollar, but also do a quick job. This quick job is often time horrible. Stains may be left on floors, streaks in the paint are on the walls, and the colours may be incorrect. It is best to work with a trusted company or individual.

]]>

Some people choose to do the painting and decoration themselves instead of using painting contractors because of cost savings. This savings is present in some cases, but in other cases the contractors are just as affordable. Most contractors will visit one’s home and give a quote on the painting job. There can be a quote if the owner supplies the paint or if the contractor does. Typically, it is cheaper if the painter gets the paint because he or she may have a discount with a local store. The quotes are often a better deal if there are more rooms to paint. The price may also be affected by the level of difficulty. One should take the contractor’s quote and compare it to the cost of the paint and other supplies that will need to be purchased. Many times there is little if any difference at all in the price.

Painting one’s home can be a fun but scary task. The fun part is picking out the colours and finding just the right trim to accent them. The scary part is the actual act of painting the room or rooms. Painting contractors are available to help with the painting and decorating of the home. As long as references are checked this business is a fairly safe bet. The prices can be just a cheap as a self done job.

Having said that, decorated with white Christmas lights all year round may be very beneficial and well worth it. These are simple products that can be used both inside and outside the home. There are many different types, like tube lighting. By using these on a walkway, it is a great way to invite people and draw them to a certain area, whether that area is the front door or the garden. Or, decorating the tree with a string of white Christmas lights, can really make the home stand out. For example, with a twinkle lights hung on a tree, it can give the appearance of a bunch of stars twinkling. Many people own tents, canopy, or gazebos. These provide great shelter for those who like to entertain outdoors. Hanging a string of lights or a tube of lighting around the perimeter by attaching them to the frame provides a beautiful look. Moving indoors, there are a variety of ways in which they can be used not only for beauty but also for function. A long dark hallway can benefit from tube lighting attached to the base boards.
